ITS Project Metrics

In August 2023, ITS introduced a ITS Project Metrics Dashboard featuring project metrics based on project data already collected in the ITS Active and Proposed Projects list.

 

The metrics created include:

  1. Project delay – measured by the number of times the project finish date changed
  2. Reason for Project delay – captured in the project challenges data
  3. Alignment – alignment with primary ITS principle for the project

 

The metrics are defined here:

Project Delay

The project delay metric is captured based on Finish Date changes to the project

Count of number of changes to Finish Date

This gives a measure of our planning accuracy. 

 

 
   

Reason for Project Delay

We are using Project Challenges as a proxy for the Reason for Project delays

This presents us with likely root causes for delay, and can inform future project plans and potential to launch systemic improvements

The ITS Project Metrics Dashboard displays aggregated metric results with breakdowns by project portfolio and project size, as well as drill down to specific project data.
