Cabling can often hide in unexpected places. Even slight changes to the layout of an office can sometimes warrant the rerouting of network or phone lines.

If you are planning to rearrange your office space, contact the ITS Business Office to ensure that any movement of cables can be done in a timely fashion.

When to Make Contact

Contact the ITS Business Office if you are unsure whether your move will require the rerouting of cables or if you are moving any of the following:

• Modular furniture, desks, or other large pieces of furniture
• Phones
• Computers
• Anything with a panic button

Lead Times

ITS requires the following lead time to guarantee that your cabling can be rerouted on the day of your move:

• Two weeks' notice prior to moving small amounts of cable
• Three weeks' notice prior to moving large amounts of cable

Please note that an additional week of lead time is required between May 1 and October 1, as more moves are scheduled during this period.
