RESOLVED: Outage of mail flow from Office 365 to on-premises AEMS

On the afternoon of Thursday, 20 October, ITS Systems staff made a security-related change to the on-premises Exchange environment. Due to an unexpected monitoring configuration on the F5 load balancers, this change resulted in the suspension of mail flow from Office 365 to users of the on-premises Austin Exchange Messaging Service. The change was reverted at approximately 8:30 AM on Monday, 24 October, at which time normal mail flow was restored. ITS System staff are working to address the unexpected monitoring issue and will re-apply the security change when that is complete. For the duration of this issue, users in Office 365 attempting to reach AEMS users may have had their messages bounced. Message delivery to and from external recipients was not affected. ITS Systems staff regret any inconvenience caused by this incident.
