  • Microsoft Campus Agreement

The University of Texas System has participated with Microsoft Corporation through the Microsoft Campus Agreement (MSCA). The MSCA provides students, faculty, and staff access to Microsoft's popular computer software, including operating systems and desktop productivity tools.

Through the MSCA contract, every student, faculty member, and staff employee in the University of Texas System will have access to the latest versions of this important suite of software for use both on campus and at home.

We believe this will give the UT System a competitive advantage in recruiting and retaining students, as the software tools they most often need (and usually buy on their own) will now be available to them, at no additional cost, by attending UT System schools.

The most popular desktop packages from Microsoft are included for PC and Macintosh platforms as well as for use by thin clients.

    End-User License Agreement (EULA) v3.5

This acceptance form is valid for the Microsoft products listed below, which shall be referred to collectively herein as the “Software”. Software is made available to you because UT has purchased license coverage for the Software through Microsoft Campus Agreement 3.5 Subscription Student Option effective September 1 2008 through August 31 2013. UT is extending to you the right to use the Software on a personally-owned computer or an institution-owned computer designated for your exclusive use. You do not own the license or the CDs, rather you are leasing the license and CDs from UT for the term of the agreement. You will be required to remove the software from your personal machine immediately upon the earlier of (a) any event, with the exception of graduation, which causes you no longer to be a student of the institution or (b) expiration Campus Agreement 3.5 Subscription term.

If you graduate during the agreement term, the Software license will convert to a perpetual license (meaning you own the Software) as verified in your Student License Confirmation, which may be obtained from UT at that time. The Student License Confirmation is proof of Software ownership.

You are granted right to use the following Software products per the term of the Campus Agreement 3.5 Subscription Student Option: Windows Desktop OS upgrades and Office Products.

    Available to:Students,Faculty and Staff
    Features

Signing indicates that you agree to the following:

    • I will read and abide by the license agreement associated with this Software.
    • I understand the minimum specifications to run the Software as listed.
    • I understand that I will be required to remove the software from my personal machine immediately upon the earlier of (a) any event, with the exception of graduation, which causes me to no longer to be a student of the institution or (b) expiration Campus Agreement Subscription term.
    • I understand that if UT does not renew the Student Option Agreement, then I must delete or remove the Software licensed under this agreement from my computer at the time the agreement expires or is terminated.
    • I understand that if I graduate from UT during the agreement term, the Software license will convert to a perpetual license (meaning I have full ownership of the software).
    • I understand that it is my responsibility to contact the institution to obtain the Student License Confirmation, which is proof of Software ownership, prior to graduation from the institution.
    • I understand that the CDs obtained cannot be returned.

The following provisions only apply to Faculty/Staff work-at-home users:.

    • I understand that I am eligible for this software as long as I have an active appointment and I am currently employed by UT.
    • I understand that I will be required to remove the software from my personal machine immediately upon any event which causes me to no longer to be an employee of the institution.
