Amazon Web Services (AWS) offered through a re-seller contract negotiated by the University. These services are intended for current faculty, staff, and researchers in need of cloud computing resources who want to pay only for what is used with the added safety of a University-negotiated contract.
Amazon Web Services offers a broad set of global cloud-based products including compute, storage, databases, analytics, networking, mobile, developer tools, management tools, IoT, security and enterprise applications. You can commission one or thousands of instances simultaneously, and pay only for what you use, making web-scale cloud computing easy.
- Pay only for what you use per month
- Approved for HIPAA/PHI data (some features may not be approved)
- AWS GovCloud Offerings are available for ITAR and other highly restricted data and security compliance requirements (with limited features and additional cost)
- Offered under a consolidated UT Austin contract
If you have a requirement to store Confidential Data or HIPAA data, there may be additional reviews imposed by the Information Security Office and University Compliance Services to make sure that all appropriate controls are in place.
