Domain Name System (DNS)

ITS provides DNS (Domain Name System) hosting services for colleges and departments at the university, as well as qualifying related organizations. ITS hosts all hostnames, subdomains, and delegations for "utexas.edu" and certain related domains, as well as providing hosting for authorized vanity domains that may have been registered with external registrars.

  • DNS Self Service

ITS operates a system which provides a web-based graphical user interface to the campus DNS (Domain Name System) services. This system allows users to manage DNS entries within their respective sub-domains under "utexas.edu" and other hosted domains.

Authorized TSCs (Technical Support Coordinators) for units on campus will be granted access to this system to manage the DNS entries for their respective subdomains and hostnames. Top-level entries within "utexas.edu" will continue to be managed by UTNIC.
