Campus Security Systems (BACS)
ITS provides a variety of security solutions for buildings. Systems can be installed that limit access to areas or provide extra personal safety. Services include door access systems that require a proximity card to enter, panic/duress buttons, video security, property protection alarms, and intrusion protection systems.

Request Items
BACS Alarm Point(s):
Is a monitored device or switch that is typically connected to an intrusion system. Examples but not limited to: motion detectors, position switches, glass break detectors, beam detectors.
BACS Exterior Electronic Door:
Any exterior opening of a building that has a Door Management Unit (DMU) controlling exterior doors electrified locks. A DMU provides alarms to UTPD.
BACS Exterior Card Reader:
Building Access Control System (BACS) requires an authorized university photo ID proximity card (issued by the ID Center) to access secured areas.
BACS Interior Electronic Door:
Any interior opening of a building that has a Door Management Unit (DMU) controlling exterior doors electrified locks. A DMU provides alarms to UTPD.
BACS Interior Card Reader:
Building Access Control System (BACS) requires an authorized university photo ID proximity card (issued by the ID Center) to access secured areas.
BACS Panic/Duress button(s):
Panic/Duress buttons send a silent alarm to UTPD and are available for areas where threats to personal safety may be possible. Panic/Duress buttons can requested at a cost and upon UTPD approval.

- Video security using closed circuit TV or DVR recording is available for security-sensitive areas
- Property protection is available for computers, printers, and monitors using a fiber optic loop (FOL) or cat5 wire to create a secure link.
- Intrusion protection devices—such as motion sensors and door contacts—provide after-hours protection

Tier 1 Video | Per month, Per camera instance | $30.00 | Provides video storage, support and life cycle costs for all tier 1 cameras. A tier 1 camera is a camera that meets standards set in the CCTV and Video guidelines. |
Tier 2 Video | Per month, Per camera instance | $38.00 | Provides video storage, support and life cycle costs for all tier 2 cameras. A tier 2 camera is a camera that meets standards set in the CCTV and Video guidelines. |
Elevator Control | Per month, per instance/floor | $32.00 | Building floor elevator control. This rate applies to each floor controlled. A card reader in the cab of the elevator is required and is billed under the..... |
Biometric Reader | Per month, per instance | $39.00 | Fingerprint reader that is used in conjuction with a standard card reader. |

Intrusion Detection (Alarm Point) | Per month, per instance | $15.00 | Detection device that reports alarms to UTPD (e.g. glassbreak and motion detectors). |
