The Personal Meet Me Conference feature is for university business purposes only, and the "personal" description means it is allocated and controlled by the user. Also conferences should be for active use, and not just initiated and left active, conference resources are monitored for misuse.  

Activating the Feature

In order to activate the feature and have a Chairperson PIN emailed to you please click the survey link below and enter the requested information you may be required to login to Microsoft Office365. A ServiceNow Ticket will be generated:

  • UT Phone Number (for which the feature will be activated, your personal Work Number as reflected in Workday, not a shared line)
  • UT EID

Personal Meet Me Conference Instructions and Controls

All University VoIP phone lines have a Personal Telephone Conference Bridge also referred to as Meet Me Conference.  Meet-Me Conference bridge capacity is 10 participants (yourself + 9). 

Chairperson instructions:

Call the Meet Me number, 2-8670 on campus or 512-232-8670 from off campus.

When prompted, enter the Conference Access Code (your 7 digit UT number) followed by the # key.

Example: 2-8670, after prompt 2321234 #.

Press the * key, and, after the prompt, enter the Chairperson PIN.

Press 3 to change PIN, if needed, before you enter the conference.

Press 1 to enter the conference.  (There are other options available, including changing your Chairperson PIN, just follow the prompts.)

If you wish to record the conference, press *9 to start/stop the recording.  The recording will be sent to your UT email address if provisioned. To request the ability to record a conference please Call/Email: 512-471-7800; voice@austin.utexas.edu, providing your phone number and email address.

  • Conference call recordings are emailed at 15 minute increments through the end of the call due to file size limits.
  • There is no retention of call recordings.  The server automatically sends emails and deletes.
  •  Enabling *9 while already recording will stop the recording. 
  • To re-enable recording on a call, press *9.

When the conference is over, hang up. 

Chairperson can mute all participants but allow participants to un-mute themselves by pressing 88 at any time.  This will allow participants to un-mute themselves by pressing *7.  After speaking participants can press *6 to be re-muted. The Chairperson can un-mute all participants by pressing 99

Selecting *8 allows the conference to continue if the chair drops off call.  Pressing *8 again will cancel this feature.

Need a new PIN or provisioning for recording?

Participant instructions:

Call the Meet Me Conference number, 512-232-8670 (2-8670 on campus). 

When prompted, enter the Conference Access Code (this will be the 7 digit UT number of the Chairperson hosting the conference), followed by the # key. 

The conference will start when the Chairperson arrives and ends when they leave the conference.
