The retention period for UT Lists archives is 4 years (48 months). This interval is based on guidance from the university Records Management Officer for compliance with the minimum retention required by university records management policies.

On July 29, 2020 all mailing list archives created in June 2016 or earlier were removed from the UT Lists service.  As of August 1, 2020, list archives older than 4 years are removed automatically on the first day of each month.

List owners are encouraged to periodically review their existing list archives and preserve or delete any monthly archives close to reaching the 4 year retention period limit.
