There are a few options available to discover an individual's UT EID.

Non-Technical Lookups

The easiest method is to use the UT Directory. This will allow you to view the public directory information (including UT EID) for any individual who is currently affiliated with the university and has not restricted their information.

If you cannot find the information that you are looking for on the UT Directory, try the University Community EID Listing. This will allow you to look up UT EIDs for a larger subset of university-affiliated individuals.

Lastly, if those options don't meet your need, you may be eligible for access to run a search on the EID Admin Tool.

If you do not have access to the EID Admin Tool, please see KB0017421: Requesting Access to the EID Admin Tool. Access to the EID Admin Tool is restricted to those who can demonstrate a legitimate business need.

Technical Users and Developers

The UT Directory, which contains public records information, is accessible via LDAP.

If you have a TED Service Account, you can look up an individual's UT EID by performing an LDAP query against TED.

Developers on UT Direct may be interested in the EID Picklist.

There are also options for looking up an individual's UT EID using the Austin Active Directory.
