VPN: Common error messages
A customer may report the following errors when attempting to connect to the VPN with the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client:
- The VPN connection failed due to unsuccessful domain name resolution
- Cannot connect to this gateway. Please choose another gateway and try again
- Connection attempt has timed out. Please verify Internet connectivity
As a first check before diving into any deeper troubleshooting, make sure that the customer is using the proper address vpn.utexas.edu to connect. Any modification to this (for example "utexas" or "austin.utexas.edu" or "utexas.edu") can and will result in the error messages found above.
