The total size of your message cannot exceed 5 megabytes (MB), including attachments and ASCII encoding.

This limit conserves mailbox storage resources as messages are delivered to individual subscriber mailboxes. Each subscriber's copy of a message contributes to overall resource consumption within the mailbox service they use. This can add up quickly for mailing lists with hundreds or even thousands of subscribers. 

If you have an attachment that is larger than the 5MB limit allows, you can share your file as a link via UT Box or Google Drive via UTmail.

Please contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance if there is a business reason for routinely sending messages larger than this limit to a UT Lists mailing list.
