Access Office 365 from a Mobile Device
ITS offers three mobile-specific ways to access your Office365 account from a mobile device. They are ActiveSync, and Outlook Mobile App (OMA). Each has advantages and disadvantages, and requires a mobile device and a data plan from your wireless service provider (such as AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.). The standard POP and IMAP protocols can also be used to access your email but not your calendar, contacts, etc. so they are not generally recommended.
ActiveSync on Smartphone Devices
ActiveSync is a Microsoft protocol which provides access to mailbox. It is implemented by many other companies including Apple and Google.
No cost from ITS
A broad range of devices use it
Slightly higher amount of data transferred to device (contact your wireless service provider for details of your data plan)
Push notifications are not always as fast _ If you need assistance with using mobile devices to connect to AEMS email and calendar, please contact the UT Service Desk.
