If you are going to run your own servers to host your website, you need a static IP address for your Web and email servers. UTnet, the campus network, has obtained blocks of Internet address space from an address registry for use at the university. ITS, as the Local Internet Registry, allocates IP addresses to departments using the CIDR system or DHCP based on the department's requirements. For more information about how IP addresses are assigned, refer to the IP address management page.

To request IP address assignments or DHCP services for your department, email utnic@utexas.edu with your requirements.
