Note: WebDAV limits file transfers to 2 GB in size. If you need to transfer larger files to austin.utexas.edu, use SFTP.

If you have subscribed to Disk Storage on austin.utexas.edu and you use your disk space on the Austin domain to store files or publish Web pages you can use the WebDAV protocol to access Austin disk files securely from off campus. This type of access, sometimes referred to as "opening a share," is available to students, faculty, and staff at The University of Texas at Austin.

Mapping Austin Disk as a Network Drive in Windows (some steps may differ based on OS version):

  1. On your Windows desktop, select Start, and then select Computer.

  2. Select Map Network Drive.

  3. In the Folder field, enter the URL with the share name at the end:

  4. Check the Reconnect at logon checkbox if you want your Austin Disk drive to be available every time you log on to your computer.

  5. Check the Connect using different credentials box.

  6. Enter your UT EID and password in the User name and Password fields, and then select OK.

  7. Select Finish.
