You are responsible for checking your account charges and paying them. Your charges for the service or the funds will appear on the What I Owe page (UT EID required). Select the ITS Total Amount (the billing department) link to view a detailed listing of your charges.

If these charges remain unpaid beyond the due date, your paid ITS services will be disconnected and you could be barred from registering for classes, getting transcripts or diplomas, or using other university services until the charges have been paid.

If you do not pay your regular ITS charges by the due date, access to all paid ITS services will be turned off and prohibited, regardless of which ITS service generated the charge. If that happens, you will be unable to log in to use any paid ITS services, and you will not be able to access your files and email on ITS systems. (Your email will continue to collect on the host, subject to disk storage limitations and policy.)

Once you pay your ITS charges, your access to ITS services will be restored, unless there are circumstances that dictate otherwise — for example, abuse of your account

How to contact ITS about your charges: Either a phone number or e-mail address which you can contact if you have any questions regarding the charges listed for that specific department. For questions about ITS you can call the Service Desk at 512-475-9400.

What Happens to Your Files When Access is Turned Off:

If your ITS services are turned off or access is prohibited due to non-payment, your files on time-sharing accounts will remain online for 30 days. You will not be able to access them until you pay the money you owe. Once you pay your bill, your account will be turned on and you will be able to access your files again. This process may take between 24 to 48 hours. You will continue to be charged your usual storage fees during the time you were unable to access your files.

If your charges remain unpaid for longer than 30 days, your files will be removed to tape. They will be kept on tape for six months from the original date of disconnection. If you pay your charges after your files have been removed to tape, they will be restored. However, this may take up to three business days. You will also be charged both:

  • restoration fee, determined by the current State of Texas open records rates and the amount of staff time required to restore your files.

  • Storage charges for the period during which your files were inaccessible.

After the six months has elapsed, ITS cannot guarantee that your files can be recovered.
