How do I create a University Affiliate job in Workday?
Most affiliates are nonemployees in Workday. They can be hired into either Worker Type: Employee or Contingent Worker. The Job Profiles for this population is in the Nonemployee Job Family Group of the Job Catalog.
Another kind of affiliate is an Academic Affiliate which is not a Worker, and so, do not have jobs or positions in a supervisory organization. Instead, they have academic appointments in academic units. To compare, faculty will have both a job in a supervisory organization AND an academic appointment in an academic unit. Academic affiliates will only have an academic appointment. The most common appointment for this population is Adjunct/Clinical University Affiliate.
Nonemployees would use the Hire, Add Job, or Contract Contingent Worker business process, depending on the Worker Type. Academic Affiliates are hired via the Add Academic Appointment business process.

Note: CSUs should not use the Academic Affiliate or Contingent Worker to facilitate transitioning incoming faculty. Needing to change from an university affiliate when hired as a faculty is not permitted using the PAR integration and will require additional manual steps from the CSU to correct.
