Tips for the New Fiscal Year 2024-2025

Tips for the New Fiscal Year 2024-2025

Here are some things to be aware of as the new fiscal year starts:

  1. Pay attention to what year is shown in the *DEFINE command line. At this time of year, you may be going back and forth between the old fiscal year and the new fiscal year. This is done by changing the year in the command line. If you have trouble viewing information or performing a particular task, double-check the fiscal year to make sure you are using the correct one!
  2. When you first type *DEFINE on the COM PASS screen, the year will default to the current fiscal year. You can change this default by using the YP1 command. Press the F6 key within *DEFINE command YP1 for instructions on using this command. CAUTION! If you change the default to the old fiscal year, it may cause some confusion when you are looking for information in the new fiscal year. Remember to check the year in the command line if you have trouble using the system.
  3. For more information about fiscal year-end 2023-24 voucher processing deadlines, continue reading Fiscal Year-End Voucher Processing Deadlines.
  4. Refer to Converting a *DEFINE Document for a New Fiscal Year to learn how to convert a *DEFINE document into the new fiscal year.
  5. Check out the Good Morning Screen in *DEFINE for announcements posted throughout the year. Announcements are also posted on the What's New Windows in *DEFINE. If you don't have time to read the What's New Windows at first glance, print them out so you can read them later. They appear only once.
